What is silicone hydrogel — and why it matters
Ordinary hydrogel lenses rely on their water to ferry oxygen to your cornea. The trade-off: to move more oxygen they need more water, and high-water lenses tend to dry out faster — pulling moisture from your eye by the afternoon.
Silicone hydrogel changes the rules. Oxygen passes straight through the silicone itself, so far more reaches your eye without depending on water. That's why it became the standard for long-wear comfort and healthier daily use.

The one number worth caring about: Dk/t
Dk/t = oxygen transmissibility — how much oxygen actually gets through the lens to your cornea. Higher is better.
Clinical guidance points to Dk/t ≥ 24 to keep the cornea healthy during open-eye wear. Many low-cost daily lenses still use older hydrogel down around 18–26 Dk/t. Our S-Series silicone hydrogel runs up to 187.5.

Is silicone hydrogel better than regular contact lenses?+
For oxygen and long-wear comfort, yes. Silicone hydrogel delivers far more oxygen to the cornea than older hydrogel, which is why it's preferred for long screen days, dry eyes and extended wear. For occasional, short wear, a value hydrogel like our M-Series can be plenty.
What Dk/t do I actually need?+
Clinical guidance points to a Dk/t of at least 24 for healthy open-eye daily wear; higher is better for long hours. Our S-Series runs 150 (daily) to 187.5 (monthly) Dk/t.
Are silicone hydrogel lenses good for dry eyes?+
They tend to be, because they don't rely on high water content to move oxygen — so they're less likely to pull moisture from your eye through the day. If dryness is your main issue, start with the S-Series.
Can beginners wear silicone hydrogel?+
Yes. If you're new to contacts and want the gentlest entry, the ultra-thin A-Series is built for sensitive and first-time wearers; the S-Series is the step up for maximum breathability.
